ADVENTURE BAY VISITOR ACCOMMODATION
Fitting in with the locals in a sensitive setting is as important as constructing a building of interest to its visitors.
Slotting a commercial building into this uniquely beautiful, and largely untouched, part of the world was a privilege not taken lightly.
This contemporary take on the modest, yet iconic, farm shed aims to do just that.
Designed to weather naturally and age gracefully over time, a quiet considered statement is made, letting visitors know we’re here to do something new, while respecting the existing context.
The result is a building that reflects and looks back, to celebrate a humble yet hard-working relationship to the land.
Building Permit approved, due for construction late 2025.

MORTIMER BAY HOUSE
A home atop a hill in Mortimer Bay.
If you’re designing a building for the person who will be constructing it, ensuring respect for practical, cost-efficient construction practices is essential.
This approach allowed for a collaborative creativity to be unfold, resulting in a pragmatic, purposeful building not shy of inventive detail in design.
The existing modest brick home is upscaled, up-cycled and enveloped in a roughly textured, warm render externally, and on the surfaces of feature walls internally.
Incorporating tiny house planning principles efficiency of floor space is maximised.
Floor area is then redistributed to an over scaled entry and main corridor, blanketed by a high cathedral (sloped) ceiling running through this connecting spine of the home.
This generous volume reaches out and brings into the house eastern bushland vista’s one side and sweeping western river views the other.
Building Permit approved, due for construction late 2025.
